Will learn all about the
nature of mold and it's health effects, regulatory requirements,
hazard communication, respiratory protection, injury illness
prevention program, set-up of regulated work areas, negative

asbestos in buildings. Under EPA Asbestos Hazard Emergency Response
Act (AHERA), persons seeking accreditation as inspectors must
successfully complete a 3-day training program and written exam.
Content: asbestos an its uses, potential health effects related to
exposure, functions/qualifications and role of inspectors, legal
liabilities and defenses, understanding building systems,
public/employee/building occupant relations. Audience: Bldg. Owners,
Fac. Mng., Architects, Engineers, Contractors, Ind. Hyg., Real State

Asbestos Abatement
Worker
EPA Model Accreditation Plan for
Asbestos-Containing Materials in Schools (EPA-40 CFR Part 763)
requires all persons seeking accreditation as asbestos abatement
workers to complete 4-day training course approved by the EPA. Also
meets requirements for training under OSHA Asbestos Standard for
Construction and General Industries (29 CFR 1926.58 and 1919.1001),
and CAL-OSHA. Content: Physical Characteristics of Asbestos, Health
Effects/Medical Monitoring, Relevant State and Federal Regulations.
Audience: Individuals conducting asbestos abatement operations.

Management Planner
Persons seeking accreditation as
management planners must complete 3-day Inspector course, and 2-day
Management Planning Course. Under section 206 of TSCA, the law
requires schools with asbestos to implement management plans developed
by an "accredited" management planner. Content:
Responsibilities of Management Planners, Evaluation and Interpretation
of Survey Results, Management Planning Process, Hazard Assessment,
Evaluation and Selection of control options. Audience:
Building/facilities' managers, industrial hygienist, architects,
asbestos abatement contractors, safety specialists.

EPA Asbestos
Contractor/Supervisor
and OSHA Competent Person
For supervisors who direct workers
engaged in asbestos removal, encapsulation, enclosure and repair.
Course builds upon topics covered in the 5-day Worker Training
Program. In addition to meeting requirements under section 206 of
TSCA, EPA Final Rule 40 CFR Part 763 (AHERA) and OSHA, course meets
requirements of CAL-OSHA for competent Person Status. Audience:
Supervisor who give direction to workers engaged in asbestos
operations.

Asbestos Refresher
Worker/Supervisor/Contractor/Competent Person
Accredited workers, supervisors,
contractors, project designers and "competent persons"
require annual refresher training with one year of initial
accreditation. After completion of an annual refresher course, persons
shall have their accreditation extended for an additional year.
Programs satisfy requirements for TSCA, OSHA (29 CFR 1926.58) and
CAL-OSHA for persons holding certificates as "competent
persons". Audience: Workers, supervisors, "competent
persons" require annual refresher training.

Building
Inspector/Management Planner Refresher
EPA/AHERA-accredited inspectors and
management planners require annual refresher training within one year
of initial accreditation if they wish to continue serving as
inspectors and management planners. Refresher for inspectors is 2 1/2
day. Management planners attend the Inspector refresher plus
additional 1/2 day for management planner. Audience: Inspectors and
Management Planners requiring annual refresher training.
